ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is Ontario’s premier destination for art, culture, and natural history. Located in the heart of Toronto, it has served as a cultural landmark since its opening in 1914, drawing millions of visitors to its world-class collections and exhibitions.
Known for its striking architecture—blending the original heritage structure with the modern Michael Lee-Chin Crystal—the ROM has continually evolved to meet the needs of a growing city. In 2024, it launched OpenROM, a $130 million revitalization project aimed at transforming the museum into a more accessible, inclusive, and community-focused space.
OpenROM features a redesigned Bloor Street entrance, 6,000 square feet of new gallery space, a central skylight, and a plaza for events, as well as free year-round access to the main floor.
With construction underway and the museum remaining open throughout, ROM’s transformation ensures it remains a dynamic hub where history and innovation meet, welcoming everyone, every day.
